POSITION: COMMUNITY OUTREACH COORDINATOR
Mitchell & Area Community Outreach
Temporary Full-time (approx. 9 month contract)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Community Outreach Coordinator provides support for the planning, development, promotion, implementation and evaluation of programs and services to meet the needs of seniors and disabled people living in West Perth.

REPORTS TO: Manager of Outreach Services

DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible

SALARY: $23.46 to $24.77 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Diploma (2 Year) or Degree in Social Services/Gerontology or Recreation or related field.
- Valid First Aid, CPR and Safe Food Handler certificates are an asset but not required.

Experience:
- Experience in Social Services/Gerontology or related field a definite asset.
- Experience working with seniors and/or individuals with varying abilities preferred
- Knowledge of community resources & experience with fundraising an asset

Abilities:
- Excellent organizational, computer, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and good judgment
-Ability to establish positive working relationships and be able to converse with managers across various departments
- Ability to work within a partnership team environment and independently
- Valid driver’s license, insurance and use of a reliable vehicle to access community programs
